American Sniper

This is a film about a war with no purpose where many surviving veterans come back emotionally scarred. If our government won’t fund the VA to help them, who will?

Is it acceptable to condemn Japanese treatment of POWs in World War II and ignore our country’s use of torture in the last 15 years?

The Imitation Game

It is time we recognize the profound harm that we continue to inflict on our own citizens, particularly homosexuals.

This was a film that reminded me of the great Northwest Passage (1940).

Dracula Untold

If you are wondering why Dracula keeps being interpreted on the silver screen, remember that he only appears in dark movie theaters. I wonder why?

A nagy füzet (The Notebook)

In sub-titles, this is not a film for those with a weak heart. Families collapse, children are abandoned, and only the smart kids survive.

300: Rise of an Empire

Anyone who would agree to make love with Eva Green on screen would likely die with a smile on their face. Then again, there are worse deaths.

The Monuments Men

It may not be a great movie, but it forces you to remember that the importance of life transcends life itself.

Rating: In German with sub-titles, this movie is good, but no easy walk in the cinematic park.
