Spider-Man: Homecoming

You know a movie is in trouble when you secretly hope the bad guy wins.

War for the Planet of the Apes

This film is every bit as stunning as Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman

This is a colossally entertaining film with a social significance that makes it special.

Alien: Covenant

Even though I am very fond of this film, what happens to spouses makes it unlikely that it will be shown at any couples’ retreat.

The Circle

You would think it would be impossible for Tom Hanks and Emma Watson to appear in a below average film. But as the old saying goes, “Not anymore.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

For big budget Marvel and sci-fi monster films, I doubt you will see a better one than the Guardians sequel.

Colossal

This is one of those films where the previews make it seem more appealing than the actual film itself.

Life

Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernik, who brought us last year’s superb Deadpool, should keep their talented feet firmly on Earth.

Power Rangers

Go see it while disguised as an escapee from a mental institution. It beats solitary confinement.
