Commentary on Trump and Taxes

Regardless of your feelings concerning President Trump, how can anyone possibly support his tax proposal without requiring him to make his tax returns a public record? For example, if business taxes are slashed and the estate tax eliminated, how do we know that he won’t walk away grinning like a Cheshire cat?

For the past several decades, all presidential candidates, Democrat or Republican, have revealed their tax returns. Mr. Trump is the only exception. Are we now supposed to turn a blind eye to his attempt to change a tax system that will likely allow him and his wealthy friends to make millions?

We Americans are being played for fools as we are asked to happily swallow this tax bill pitched as benefiting the middle class. The average man and woman in this country cannot continue to allow our presidential Wizard of Oz to hide behind a curtain while he seems to be exploiting his office for personal gain.
