McFarland, USA

This is an Hispanic version of Hoosiers (1986). Both are emotionally powerful films filled with total joy.

Unbroken

Is it acceptable to condemn Japanese treatment of POWs in World War II and ignore our country’s use of torture in the last 15 years?

Draft Day

This is little more than a brazen attempt of the NFL and ESPN to worship themselves.

Rush

Rating: If you think the competition between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson was memorable, at least they didn’t risk death with each game. This is a championship movie about championship sports figures.

42

Rating: Assume Martin Luther King could run, steal second and hit homers, and you have Jackie Robinson.

Trouble with the Curve

This film is living proof as to why Spring training baseball is still fun even if you are rooting for a losing team.

Real Steel

Lightweight, brain dead entertainment that is actually fun if accompanied by boys 20 years of age and younger

Moneyball

Highly Recommended if you are a baseball fan.  Recommended if you are not.

Warrior

Very Highly Recommended.  Should rival the most praised films of the year.
