Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin is a tiny little film filled with great significance.

Leave No Trace

Few little moments in film are as endearing as when you watch Mr. Foster and Ms. McKenzie click their tongues twice at each other to say “I love you.”

Sicario: Day of the Soldado

This film is a perfect example of why I see most movies alone.  I almost always enjoy the ride, and few others share my enthusiasm.

Dunkirk

If you majored in history in college as I did, this film teaches you more about an event in World War II than you will ever learn in a textbook.

Hearts Beat Loud

This little film defines why I love going to the movies.

First Reformed

This was one of those films that left you feeling that it was a class assignment where you were required to write a paper outlining your reaction.

Hereditary

This film adopted the Red Queen’s mantra in Alice in Wonderland (2010) “Off with their head.”

On Chesil Beach

As hard as it is for me to say, this is a Saoirse Ronan film that is worth missing

Beast

The title of this film could have been “Psychologically damaged Beauty and a deranged Beast.”
