Commentary on Healthcare

As President Trump and the Republican members of Congress try to repeal Obamacare and come up with a replacement, I have a suggestion. Why don’t they insist on healthcare insurance coverage that is identical to what they receive as members of Congress?

As elected officials, they are the servants of the people, not the masters. They are not in a position to function as Feudal Lords from medieval times and treat the public as if we are serfs working in the fields.     If they are opposed to the government paying for healthcare coverage, then why do they accept insurance paid for by taxpayers?

What is fair for the elected goose is equally fair for the public gander. Accepting health insurance that is denied to those living in their district paints them as nothing more than uncaring elitists, and they should be ashamed.
